Belhus Cricket Club Saturday 2nd XI v Averages/Records 2nd XI 1965 on Sat 02 Oct 1965 at Noon
Match was Tied
Match report
By the start of the 1965 season, a new, modern pavilion (with showers, 6 changing rooms and a large tearoom that could accommodate 4 teams) had been completed. An additional cricket square had also been laid out. This was used by the 2nd XI that had been resurrected under the captaincy of Jim Reed (a 2nd XI had not been fielded in 1963 or 1964). Few clubs had the luxury of tow home grounds sitting side-by-side.
The season wasn't overly successful from the playing point of view, but it provided the nursery for young players joining the club and which paid dividends for future years. It can rightly be said that 1965 was a significant year in the club's history.
