Clacton v Belhus Cricket Club Sunday 1st XI on Sun 26 Aug 1979 at 11.30am
Belhus Cricket Club Lost by 7 Wickets
Match report
This was an all day game at Vista Road, Clacton. Belhus batted first and scored 151 all out with John Rowell making 57 and Richard Harvey 31 - and we batted for 60.2 overs. Simmons bowled 24 overs for Clacton and returned 7 for 54.
In reply, Clacton knocked off the runs without difficulty with the consistent John Stuck finished on 80 not out. Knowing Belhus, we probably went to a local pub, stayed drinking until late and finished up with fish and chips on the seafront. A good day out for all no doubt.
