Belhus Cricket Club Sunday 2nd XI v SOUTH WOODFORD* on Sun 24 Sep 1978 at 2pm
Match was Drawn
Match report
Norman Beaney's century at Belhus Park was the first century for the 2nd XI since Stan Matthews scored 107 not out against Kennedy CC on 2nd September 1962. Our total of 222 was clearly far too many for South Woodford as they made no attempt to go for the runs and at close of play were 126 for 3 after 43 overs.
An unexciting match to finish the 2nd XI's season - but Norman Beaney had to buy a jug so everyone was quite happy in 'The Archer' that night.
