Match report In this Greene King Essex League match the 2nd XI were looking rocky at 24 for 4. But a great 110-runs 5th wicket partnership between Norman Beaney and Cliff Cansdale saw us chalk up 148 after our 45 overs. It was rare for two fifties to be scored in an innings in the 1970s, but Norman and Cliff did just that.

And when John Lewis Jnr took 5 for 36 to dismiss Britannic Lodge for 79 we chalked up our first victory for a little while - and about time too!
