THAMES BOARD MILLS*** v Belhus Cricket Club Midweek 1st XI on Fri 14 Jul 1978 at 6pm
Belhus Cricket Club Won by 61 Runs
Match report
Belhus 138-3
Thames Board Mills 77-9
This was the Club's first and only victory in the Thurrock & District Knock Out Cup Final played at the Pegasus Club in Corringham. And it proved far easier than anticipated. Our batsmen clocked up 138 off of the 16 x 8 ball overs as Bill Taylor led the way with a superb 56 not out.
In their response, TBM never really got on top of the run-chase. All of our bowlers had a hand in the wicket-taking and Geoff O'Neill took 3 fine catches as TBM's effort fizzled out to 77 for 9 at the close to give us a comfortable 61-runs victory. Well played Belhus.
