Against Wanderers (founded in 1877, the oldest cricket club in Barbados), we were sitting in the driving seat when they were perched on 57 for 6. But then captain and former West Indies Test fast bowler Richard ('Prof') Edwards turned their fortunes around with a quick-fire 37 to enable Wanderers to reach 132 all out. Norman Marshall was yet another West Indies Test player we came up against. Tony Pope and Alan Clarke bowled superbly to take 4 wickets apiece and Les Collard took 3 fine outfield catches.

A torrential downpour during the tea interval left a 'sticky', treacle-like, pitch that was extremely difficult to bat on. However, we gamely took on the challenge but only skipper Denis Reed (25) was able to make a score and we folded to 83 all out to lose by 49 runs.
