Match report 1972 was a pretty uneventful season for the 1st XI. Don Pegler captained the side (his first spell as captain since 1960, the year of the club's formation). Not many runs were scored by our batsmen nor were many wickets taken by our bowlers - at least not in comparison to other seasons. It was a mixed season of success from the playing point of view - as evidenced by the results detailed below.
