LLOYDS SPORTS* v Belhus Cricket Club Saturday 2nd XI on Sat 24 May 1975 at 2.30pm
Match was Tied
Match report
This was a 9-a-side match. After three defeats in their first three matches of the season, our 2nd XI found themselves in a thriller. Skipper Bill Line opened the batting and carried his bat for 66 not out as we reached 126 all out from 42 overs - a great improvement on the totals of 33, 37 and 45 in our first three games.
When Lloyds batted they made their way slowly towards our total and the scores were level when Phil Hunter came in to bowl the last ball of the match. To everyone's delight, their last batsman was caught by Bill Line and a tied match resulted. And Like Bill Line, Lloyds' opener, Weal, also carried his bat for 66 not out. Fantastic.
