An extraordinary match played at Gallows Corner against GPR - the club's first visit to the famous old ground.

Opener Harry Medlock notched up a half-century as our 1st XI posted a respectable 177 after 43 overs.

In their reply after tea, GPR made no attempt whatsoever to chase down the runs - and the match finished with GPR on 104 for 1 for a boring draw. Unfathomable. Belhus deployed 10 bowlers in their effort to dislodge the stubborn GPR opener, Nugent, whose earlier bowling spell had produced 5 for 60. Not the most enjoyable afternoon.
