Joshua Reynolds, Eathan Morris and Tyler Kohl rescued the Belhus youth team in their first tour match of 2013, which was sponsored by Purfleet-based waste management company S2. The tourists had slumped to 25 for the loss of four wickets, but Joshua Reynolds, batting at number six, hit the same number of boundaries to finish undefeated on 33. Tyler Kohl struck 28. The tail wagged when Eathan Morris plundered five fours and two sixes at the picturesque village ground on the outskirts of Ashford in Kent.

Home openers Malik and Danns both reached double figures with 18 and 11 respectively in an opening partnership worth 28. But.the hosts then collapsed from 44-1 to 54-5, as two excellent direct hits from Henry Benson and Jude Ranson contributed to a partial slide. A recovery was under way through Kennington's Grove with 27.

The last pair held on to earn a valiant draw. Top Belhus bowlers were George Benson 2-21, George Alder 1-15, Kohl 2-15 and Ben Garwood 2-22.

We express our thanks to Kennington CC for their most generous hospitality towards our entire tour party, especially the post-match barbecue, which was highly popular and very much appreciated.

As Belhus had a squad of 13 players, by agreement with our hosts, the match was twelve a side, which provided all players present on the ground with an opportunity to play. Matthew McDonagh was our volunteer who became a playing member of Kennington CC for the day. Well done Matthew.

Batsmen retired on reaching thirty runs (though could return at the end of the innings) and no innings could exceed thirty overs.
