Belhus batted first and opener Mick Patrick was our top-scorer but he was run out six runs short of his half-century (by all accounts, although Mick was a fast runner, he wasn't the best judge of a run - as witnessed again in the next Saturday match on 29th June!).

In their reply after tea, North Ockendon batted stubbornly and we couldn't quite winkle out their last batsmen and we had to settle for a draw. Four members of the Coates family played for North Ockendon.
