Day three of the Belhus CC excursion of Norfolk took the tourists to Mattishall CC. The South Green Park ground was bathed in sunshine as the visitors batted first in this 40 over match. Once again a Belhus batsman made an excellent contribution with the bat as opener Michael Fogg made a fine 104 from 107 balls hitting 16 fours and one six. Support came from Charlie Lewis (33), Wayne Read (26) and Jim Robertson (19). Pick of the home attack was C Cole who took 3-35 as Belhus totalled 234 for 7.

In reply, Mattishall lost two early wickets as Kurt Whisker opened the bowling and generated both pace and bounce to finish with 2-44. But Cole completed an excellent all round performance by making 89 from just 57 balls hitting four fours and no fewer than nine sixes. Tom Thompson (2-47) and skipper for the day Stuart Farr (3-36) kept the tourists in the hunt but Hawkins with 59 not out played the decisive innings as the home side clinched the contest by three wickets. Despite the defeat Belhus enjoyed another fine social day of tour cricket in very pleasant and hospitable surroundings.
