Played at North Stifford, this 35-overs match was the Saturday 1st XI's last of the season. Batting first, Belhus stumbled to 34 for 3 but Roy Heffernan and Danny Joyce carved a 78-runs 4th wicket partnership before Roy was dismissed for 59 (his 12th fifty of the season). Skipper DJ went on to score a masterful first century of the season (93 balls), to take us to a very respectable innings total of 229. Shree was the pick of the Rayleigh bowlers with 3 for 23.

After an excellent tea provided by Sue Joyce, Rayleigh got off to a promising start in racing to 58 for 1, but then lost 5 wickets for 33 runs after which they never quite kept up with the required run-rate. Sheraz Shahid bowled superbly to take 4 for 22 and Jim Banner and Roy Heffernan took 2 wickets apiece to close out the match for a comfortable 74-runs victory. Well played Belhus.
