Match report Stand-in skipper Jim Banner won the toss and elected to bat but tight bowling and a slow outfield made scoring difficult. JB and Jake Wolfe batted with patience and some fine hitting from Jack Plane allowed us to declare at 179 for 8 after 52 overs.

Good middle order batting from Westcliff seemed to put them on track for victory. But good bowling from Jack Plane and Alan Maidment, assisted by safe hands, meant that Westcliff began to buckle. Needing just one run of the last ball of the match they scrambled home. Mention should be made of the Westcliff skipper Matt Pastfield who sportingly provided a substitute fielder after Cliff Cansdale had to hobble off.
