Belhus 2nd XI Clinch Title

In their last league match of the season, Belhus 2nd XI became 2013 champions of Division 3 of the Shepherd Neame Essex League.

Batting first at North Stifford, our 2nd XI reached a competitive total of 203 for 7 thanks to a magnificent 55 by No. 8 batsman Dan Dreher and contributions from the in-form Roy Heffernan (36) and Nick Marns (36). In reply, Belhus medium-pacer Matthew Williams captured two wickets, and although Old Southendian & Southchurch held out for a draw, we secured sufficient points necessary for us to finish top of the Division. As the only side in the borough to win a Division in Essex's premier cricket league in 2013, skipper Mark Sansom is to be congratulated for gaining promotion in his inaugural season as captain of a senior Belhus team.
