Abdul Samid led the way for Horndon on the Hill as he top scored in this Shepherd Neame Essex League division two derby at North StiFford on Saturday. He struck 79 runs, while additional support came from Reshad Mullboccus with 36, Gary Ginsburgh hit 30 and Liam Hubbard 33.

Dale Kenyon of Belhus toiled away to bowl a mammoth 26 overs which was the third highest match tally by any Belhus bowler in the club's history; he ended with 4-120 which included three maidens. Billy Winter, Gavin Jefferies and Connor Day picked up one wicket each.

After the interval, Joe Joyce reached 1,000 runs for the season by top scoring for Belhus with 68 runs, though his team fell short by a margin of 51, despite good supporting knocks of 31 from both Ryan Wells and Danny Joyce Usman Jan took 3-56 for the visitors, Jack Marson claimed 3-60 while Abdul Samid. chipped in with 2-29.
