Belhus lost their undefeated South Essex league record at the Dick Patmore Memorial Ground on Wednesday evening (8th August) as home bowlers Adam Deller and John Grimes severely hampered the Belhus batting. At the start of the innings, Deller claimed two wickets for just six runs from his allotted four over spell which included two maidens, while Grimes returned 2-14 from two overs towards the close of the innings. Jack Martin-Hussey was the only Belhus batsman in double figures with 28, being run out off the final ball of the innings. Despite 2-15 from Sam Hall off 3.3 overs, Wickford eased to a comfortable eight-wicket win as Bate hit 13, Shipton scored 18, while Deller and John Buckley were undefeated on 14 and 16 respectively.
