This finely-balanced Shepherd Neame Essex League division two derby ended with honours just about even at North Stifford on Saturday. Horndon's Jeff West got the ball rolling with a fine undefeated half-century, only for Joe Joyce of Belhus to respond with 48 later in the afternoon. The unerring symmetry of this match continued as Jack Marson picked up 3-60 from 21 overs for Horndon, while Dale Kenyon collected 3-92 from 23 overs for Belhus. Gavin Jefferies gave Belhus support with 37 as opening bastman and his Horndon counterpart did likewise with 45. Danny Norris hit 24 for Belhus and Michael Canavon hit 29 for the visitors. Connor Price, Kashif Nizami, Thomas Moseley and West picked up one wicket each for Horns while opposing claims were made by Connor Day, Billy Winter and Owen Jefferies.

Without doubt, a draw was a fair result.
