Belhus lost their 100% record in the Shepherd Neame Essex League Division Two on Saturday when they went down by 68 runs at home to Westcliff. On the excellent North Stifford surface, visiting batsmen Jonathan Pratt and Adam Pickering took full advantage of the conditions. Opener Pratt hit a fine 91 from 127 balls faced before he was bowled by Connor Day, his knock included four fours and three sixes. This dismissal concluded a mammoth 197-run partnership for the third wicket with Pickering, who was caught by Danny Joyce off the bowling of Billy Winter for 95. Pickering faced 96 deliveries and hit eight sixes and three fours.

For Belhus, Connor Day picked up his first five-wicket haul at a cost of 61 runs from ten overs. Daniel Dreher and Billy Winter picked up one wicket each but it was all in vain as Belhus were later dismissed for 209 after 46.5 overs. Top scorers were Danny Joyce with 61 and Michael Fogg with 39.
