A strong start by Green's opening pair of Jon Bayfield (19) and Paul Hurworth (37), who put on 51 for the first wicket, proved decisive in this Dukes Essex T20 fixture at Central Park on Sunday. Belhus were back on terms when Danny Joyce picked up 3-26 from four overs and Joe Joyce collected 2-30, also from four overs. In the visitors reply, Joe Joyce and Michael Fogg started with a partnership of 38, as Joyce hit 16 and Fogg 28. Ryan Wells contributed 15 while
Danny Joyce provided a backbone of a strong, though unsuccessful, run chase, with an undefeated 38. Mathew Lewis junior hit two sixes in an impressive knock of 25 from only 19 balls, until he became one of three stumping victims by Alex Cason. For the home side, Omar Ayaz picked up 2-17 from four overs while Choudhry Mahboob claimed 2-19, also from four overs.
