Belhus were swept away with comparative ease at Church Road on Saturday. Daniel Norris top scored with 30 until he was brilliantly caught just inside the boundary line at deep mid-on by Bellot. Scott Stonham added 22 runs in the middle order.

The visitors were then completely upstaged by Hodgson, who promptly reached his half-century but then was bowled by Joshua Reynolds without further score. Reynolds (2-30) was then on a hat-trick when Hodgson's opening partner, Bailey was similarly dismissed for 36 in a new over from the young Belhus paceman. There was a brief prospect that Belhus were about to turn this match on its head and that Reynolds might accomplish a hat-trick, but neither occurred. Taverners raced home without further loss through Little and Bellot who both finished undefeated with eight runs each. Pick of the home bowlers was Plater, whose eight over spell yielded 3-34 from eight overs, which included one maiden.
