Ryan Wells put Belhus in the driving seat with an imperious knock of 53 runs at Hayes (Kent) on Sunday. Wells did not trouble the scorers with his first 16 balls faced, but then unleashed some powerful strokeplay as his half-century came up from only 42 deliveries received. He hit eight fours and two sixes. Number four batsman Jim Banner remained undefeated on 30 not out, as Belhus reached their target with 7.1 overs remaining. For the home side, opener Thistleton hit exactly 50 while Manners picked up 4-59. Earlier, it was Banner who laid the foundations for a fine all-round performance as well as a Belhus win, as he returned figures of 3-12 from 3.5 overs.
