Belhus Cricket Club Lost by 8 Runs

Match report Belhus Under 11's finished off their season with an 8-a-side 6 overs per pair match which ended in defeat against their dads at North Stifford.

The under 11s were asked to bat first with the first pairing of Jude Ranson 7 and Ben Garwood 13 giving them a steady platform. However the second pairing saw Liam Waters and Eathan Morris come out to bat, which meant Richard Waters and Stuart Morris came on to bowl, Richard Waters picking up figures of 6 - 10 off 3 overs (including a stunning hat trick) and Morris 1 - 9 off 3 overs piled on the pressure for the boys. There were helpful contributions with the bat for the boys from Joe Dalton 14, Khizer Imran 11 and Tyler Kohl top-scoring with 27 crashing the dads' bowling all around the ground.

After the break, the dads went out to bat with the message from the skipper that "we must not lose". Regular wickets fell with some questionable umpiring decisions, but this did not stop the dads hitting their sons around the park, Toby Reynolds hitting 23, Stuart Morris (batting left-handed (26), Scott Garwood (21), Andy Dalton (21), Lee Ranson (19) and Richard Waters (batting left-handed) (17). The wickets for the under 11's were well shared out as the dads lost 20 wickets, Josh Reynolds achieving a fine run out with a direct hit from the boundary.

The dads won the match by 8 runs, much to the disappointment of the watching crowd (the mums). Thank you to all the mums and dads for an enjoyable day and to Emma Reynolds for keeping the supply of bacon sandwiches going not just on Sunday but throughout the season. Most of all, a big WELL DONE to all the Under 11's squad throughout the 2011 season and I wish you all the very best for the 2012 season.
