Belhus captain Paul Whitlock bounced back to form with the ball by claiming 6-45 from 10.3 overs which prevented Benfleet from taking the game away from Belhus, as they had threatened to do. Dan Brady smashed the opening Belhus attack to all parts of the ground, but eventually Maidment pegged back the Benfleet agressor's off-stump with Brady one short of a deserving half-century, after which the visitors were forced to accumulate their runs at a more modest rate. Ryan Walker enjoyed a fine 69 and Saggar Patel hit 44, until both were caught out by Nick Marns. Maidment, Taylor, Jack Plane and Danny Norris picked up one wicket each. After tea, Stephen Huckstepp was clearly on form with regular boundary hits in a fine knock of 40, until he became the victim of a poor call from a colleague. Nick Marns struck 61 and Neil Lucey hit 64 as these two saw Belhus get close to their target. However, Benfleet's Jack Scarff nearly wrapped up the Belhus innings with 6-23 from nine overs but an undefeated, if unorthodox, 11 not out from Maidment saw Belhus home in a tense finish.
