Belhus opener Gavin Jefferies struck a magnificent undefeated 116 at North Stifford on Saturday to lead his team to a fine 110-run victory over Old Parkonians in this Shepherd Neame Essex League division three fixture. His partner Martin Guilbert gave valuable support with 46, until he was stumped by Jai Patel off the bowling of Rushan Pandya (2-56 from ten overs) for 46. More solid batting continued down the line with Joe Joyce being dismissed leg before for 35, skipper Wayne Read hit 20, while Dale Kenyon contributed 15. Nine of the Old Parkonians batsmen were caught, three of which were accepted by wicketkeeper Michael Fogg.

Despite a middle order rally from Pandya and Imran Khan with 44 and 51 respectively, Belhus were always in the driving seat due to the formidable batting of Jefferies earlier. In previous innings this season, he has never failed to achieved less than 50 in an innings, with scores of 59, 88 and 66 in the past three weeks.
