Apurv Sehgal produced a fine all-round performance in this friendly fixture on a verdant carpet at Spring Farm Park by first scoring 41 runs and followed that up with three wickets for just 16 runs from five overs, which included the crucial wicket of Rainham top scorer Sarro for 34. Then, just as Rainham's last pair were on the brink of victory, Sehgal achieved a run out with a throw to the bowler's end where Mark Winter duly obliged by breaking both the wicket and the home team's aspirations. Steve Huckstepp contributed a fine half-century and Tom Thompson hit 30, while for Rainham, Ian Havard claimed 3-19 from eight overs. Mark Winter picked up 2-20 and Brian Edwards claimed 2-23, while Mark Sansom was impressive behind the timbers with three stumpings.
