Horton Kirby v Belhus Cricket Club Sunday 2nd XI on Sun 07 Aug 2011 at 14.00
Belhus Cricket Club Lost by 75 Runs
Match report
Horton Kirby 2nd 210-6
Belhus 2nd 134-9
Hilderbrand and Bennett racked up 90 runs for Horton Kirby's opening partnership until Bennett was caught on the deep mid-wicket boundary by Greg Mendham off the bowling of John Gray for 38. Hilderbrand went on to score 48, then Ovenden contributed late runs with 33 as did White, undefeated on 32. Gray finished on 2-33 while Jack Plane impressed with 2-26 from eight overs. Cliff Cansdale also took two wickets at a cost of 40 runs, also from eight overs. Richard Dopson and James Banner put on 42 for the first wicket with Banner hitting 30 and Dopson 27. Schoolboy Toby Reynolds hit his highest score in senior cricket so far with 20 runs. But Taylor took 3-14 for the home side in five overs, one of which was a maiden. Belhus will be disappointed that they conceded 40 extras in this visit to Kent and will be looking for much better performances in the remaining weeks of the season.
