Seventeen year old Joe Joyce sailed past the 2,000 run mark for Belhus Cricket Club in the current season with another stylish innings at North Stifford on Saturday. The highly-talented seventeen year old punished the Dartfordians attack to the tune of 97 runs to take his season's total to 2,038 runs. It is thought this individual run collection might make local history as the highest ever run total in a season by a Thurrock batsman. But what is not in dispute is the fact that Joe's run accumulation makes him a club record-breaker by overtaking the 1,987 runs set by Gavin Jefferies in 2009. It was Jefferies who gave Joyce support with 26 runs while Richard Day continued a troublesome afternoon for the visiting bowlers by recording 54 runs.

After the break, Dartfordians middle order batman D Franklin top-scored with 48, but Belhus were worthy winners through a 77-run margin. Pick of the home bowlers were Daniel Dreher and Michael Cansdale with 2-33 and 2-18 respectively.
