Belhus answered a call at very short notice from Shenfield CC with an offer of a fixture - to provide yet more cricket for our ever-expanding junior squad. Shenfield were, understandably, much stronger as we again resisted to play our strongest team, instead opting to "even out" the number of playing opportunities across the whole of the age range. Three Belhus batsmen managed to reach double figures against a keen visiting attack, being Jack Davison with 27, Lee Tricker with 18 and Toby Reynolds, who finished with 15 not out.

The warm evening induced an agreement for 25 overs per side, with batsmen being compulsorily retired on reaching a score of 30. A big thank you to Barry Ruck for umpiring all 50 overs, to Emma for providing the between-innings refreshments for the players, to Lisa for scoring and for the club's ground sub-committee for making the facilities available at such short notice.
