Joe Joyce hit his second century for Belhus within six days when he scored a fine 102 at the resplendent Hayes ground on Sunday. Joyce was eventually out stumped, but he received valuable support from Michael Cansdale who struck 60 runs until he was caught off the bowling of Brownley (4-27 from eight overs).

Hayes, in reply, got off to a flier, but Luke Clements removed both openers for 36 and 38 respectively. Clements bowled fast and accurate; he claimed four wickets at a meagre cost of just five runs. In fact, his first four overs were all wicket maidens. For all four scalps, Clements pushed back the off-stump, all classic seam bowling dismissals. Belhus leg-spinner Owen Jefferies bowled well but lady luck was not on his arm today. He delivered eight overs for 35 runs as Hayes finished just five runs short of the Belhus innings.
