Belhus thirds slumped to a disappointing nine-wicket defeat as Benfleet's Jack Scarff wrapped up things nicely for the hosts with an undefeated 56. Belhus captain Paul Hall took the only wicket to fall when he bowled Michael Johnson for 23. But number three batsman Stephen Reeve walked to the crease and hit an undefeated 26, while Hall finished with 1-17 from five overs.

In the Belhus innings, which lasted 45.4 overs, opener Jim Robertson top-scored with 27, while Peter Clark hit 22. Darren Frampton scored 10, but these three batsmen were the only ones wearing Belhus shirts to reach double figures.
