Belhus seconds have moved to the top of their Shepherd Neame Essex League division after their latest victory at Stanford Recreation Ground. Gavin Jefferies led the way with a fine 81 and with contributions from Ben Marns, 35 and Marc Lewis, 21 not out, Belhus edged home in this derby thriller by two wickets. In fact Lewis put in a fine all-round performance, taking 4-25 from 9.1 overs which included two maidens, while Rob Joyce weighed in with 3-50 from 15 overs (four maidens). In the Stanford innings, Mark Nuttall top scored with 34, David Gaylor hit 32 not out and James Drain made 29.
