Cricket at Belhus certainly isn't dull at the moment as this weather-affected Shepherd Neame league game produced a thrilling finish with Belhus winning by just one run after a target of 110 was calculated. Batting first on the North Stifford pitch, Richard Day hit 41, Gavin Jefferies continued his fluency in run-accumulation with 37, while Joe Joyce chipped in with a valuable 36. In the post-tea session, Billy Winter took 2-21 from four overs and Ricki Ellis took 2-19 from three overs. But then there was real drama as eight runs were required by Woodford Green from the final over, bowled by Richard Waters. It all came down to the last ball, three runs still required. Two runs were scrambled, but then Green's number ten batsman Yeo was run-out attempting a potential match-winning third run, courtesy of Rob Joyce.
