Rettendon v Belhus Cricket Club Sunday 2nd XI on Sun 26 Sep 2010 at 1pm
Match was Abandoned
Match report
Belhus 2nd 181-7
Rettendon (match abandoned - rain)
The two Dans of Belhus - Danny Norris and Daniel Dreher rescued their side from a precarious 20 for 5 to 181 for 7 but it mattered not; heavy rain lashed the ground and players returned to the pavilion for an early tea and an ultimate early departure home. However, there were celebrations to be had as acting skipper Norris reached his 1,000 runs for the season with 62 which included nine fours and two sixes, then Dreher piled on 60 not out. In contrast, John Christie created what is believed to be a club record with three consecutive first ball dismissals; his ignominious golden ducks all bowled. It's red and it's round, John, better luck next time.
For the home side, Cook served up five wickets for just 15 runs from five steaming overs.
