Match report Losing the toss and being asked to field first on a warm day,with a good looking pitch and outfield, seemed like Belhus would have their work cut out. However from the start the Old Brentwoods batsmen were strugling to play against anything just short of a length, with the outside edge regularly beaten. And so the first 3 wickets all fell to balls that moved sideways on the pitch. A stand was then made until Sarwar decided to have a conversation with Solari about half way down the wicket and was run out by Gavin Jefferies. After this the rest of the wickets fell regularly and the innings closed when Malik damaged his knee and could not carry on. Tea was taken and was fantastic with burgers, sausages, kebabs, chicken and the rest. The only complaint, no chips.
The Belhus reply began badly. I wondered if the tea was having an effect on the batsmens ability to move. At 50 for 5 the game was in the balance and the Old Brentwoods fielders were well up for the game. Michael Fogg then came in and played with confidence that had been lacking recently. He was aided by Kevin Harber and between them steered us home.
