Established in 1999, the Jack Petchey Foundation gives numerous, regular grants to programmes and projects that benefit young people between the ages of 11 and 25.  The Foundation helps young people to take advantage of opportunities and play a full part in society.  Focusing on London and Essex, grants are made through various programmes including Achievement and Leader Award Schemes, Project Grants and Sponsorship.

We have been involved with the Jack Petchey Foundation for a number of years and many members of Belhus CC have received 'Achievement Awards' for their effort, endeavour and achievement.   We have also been in receipt of 'Leader Awards', where a number of our adult members have been recognised for their efforts in making a significant contribution to young people.

Sir Jack Petchey is one of the UK's most successful businessmen.  Born in 1925, and after leaving school at 14 and a short spell as an office clerk, he set up his own car hire/car sales business, subsequently branching out into property development and holiday resorts in the UK, Spain and Portugal.  Jack was made an Honorary Fellow of the University of East London in 2003, awarded CBE in 2012 and was deservedly knighted in 2015.

The Jack Petchey Foundation has donated over £160 million to clubs, schools and colleges and other youth organisations.  It
has made a considerable impact on the lives of many young people and sporting and educational institutions, all of whom are indebted to Mr Petchey for his generous initiatives.  To learn more about the Jack Petchey Foundation and its aims and objectives, please visit
