We have had some excellent Treasurers over the years. Some have been qualified accountants, but the majority has simply been blessed with an innate grasp of money matters, a desire for accuracy and a sense of good order. Collecting annual subscriptions and match fees are just a few of the responsibilities; ensuring that expenditure is rigorously controlled and that the books balance at the end of the year are the crucial aspects of the role. From an annual income of £132 in 1960 to £thousands today, the job doesn't get any easier.
