In a cracking 40-over match, we tied on the last ball of the innings.

Winning the toss and batting first, Lordswood were restricted to just 157 for 9 in their 40 Overs. There was some very good bowling from our attack in keeping the total down, in particular from J Roberston with his 4 for 24 from 9 overs, but it was C Skilton, who Lordswood would be thankful to, as he scored a lovely 100 not out, which included 12 fours and 1 six, aided by R Ryan with 13 and A Hussain 18, as Skilton scored nearly two thirds if his team's total.

In reply, we lost T Thompson early, but W Read set about pulling the total in reach before he fell for a good 62 with 9 fours and the score at 111 for 4 in the 28th over. So plenty of overs and wickets left for us to finish the game off, but the Lordswood bowlers plugged away and wickets kept falling, A Coltham taking 3 for 11 off 6 overs. And with the game in the balance at 153 for 9, C Cansdale joined D Aldridge at the crease with 5 balls remaining. After a dot ball, Aldrige hit 2, then a single and Cansdale then nicked a single, so one ball was left with just 1 to win. Aldridge squirted the ball away and they were off, Cansdale was haring down the wicket making it to his end, only to find that Aldridge had been run out, with the scores tied, in what was an exciting end to a really good game of cricket.
