Belhus lost to Goresbrook in this excellent Midweek friendly game at North Stifford.

Batting first, Belhus racked up a very healthy 241 for 7 in the 40 overs. Gary Plane hit a good 47 with 7 fours, but it was Wayne Read who led the way against his old friend and foes, his lovely 116* included 15 fours and a six.

In what turned out to be a lovely day and a cracking game of cricket, Goresbrook reached the target with 4 balls and 2 wickets to spare, and it really did turn out to be a day of two batsmen, as Read for the second time in ten days was to finish on the losing side as Goresbrook's Darron Ivory, opening the batting, stole the show with his magnifcent match-winning 153. It really was a lovely innings, he fell with only 3 runs to win, just missing out on carrying his bat, He was supported by S.Barwick 20, J,Brown 18 and M.Rooke on therr way to victory.

G.Plane also rounded off a good day with 3 for 22.
