GREAT BADDOW* v Belhus Cricket Club Saturday 2nd XI on Sat 22 Jul 1978 at 2pm
Belhus Cricket Club Lost by 2 Wickets
Match report
In the 1970s, a team score of 221 would be enough not to lose a match. John Lewis Jnr (51 not out - his maiden fifty in a senior match) and Tom Waters (52) steered us to such a total in their Greene King Essex League match on what was always a fine Great Baddow wicket. But we somehow contrived to lose!
It took Great Baddow 41.3 0vers to get home to an unexpected victory but they received some help from 'Mr Extras' - 41 of them. Oh dear Belhus!
