Geoff Morrant took 4 for 23 as Great Burstead made 223 in this all day match. We made a good attempt to chase down the runs with Denis Reed making 85 and Jim Donovan 40, but we fell just short by 11 runs.

This was just the first occasion (to this date) when the club had scored in excess of 200 runs when batting second. No matter - we lost!
