This was a competent performance by the 1st XI at the seaside town of Westgate-on-Sea in Kent.

Batting first, we posted a very modest total of 145-9 declared as Vic Davies top-scored with 38.

After tea, Bob Garner was at his usual economical best in taking 3 for 12 from 11 overs and, in coming on third change, Denis Reed mopped up the tail in taking 5 for 38 to enable us to win by 22 runs.
