The 1st XI's first match of the season was a rain-delayed start. Denis Reed top-scored with 24.

With only 89 on the board we couldn't have much fancied our chances. But Pauters steadily lost wickets and with spinner Terry Rampling taking 4 for 24 we won by just 7 runs. Good effort Belhus - and with 9 men too!
