THAMES BOARD MILLS* v Belhus Cricket Club Midweek 1st XI on Tue 21 Jun 1960 at 6.00pm
Belhus Cricket Club Won by 29 Runs
Match report
Belhus 109
Thames Board Mills 80
This was the club's first-ever appearance in a Thurrock and District Knock Out Cup match (a 16 x 8-ball overs competition) - held in the evening at 6pm.
Batting first, Belhus posted a total of 109 thanks to Bob Brooks (35*) and George Eve (31) and, in the process, created a Belhus club record of 6 run-outs in an innings !
In reply, Thames Board Mills were unable to cope with the speed and accuracy of our paceman Bob Prickett (one of the club's fastest-ever bowlers) who destroyed the TBM side by taking 8 for 39 (6 were clean- bowled) to see us home to a comfortable 29-run victory.
(Note: There is no record in the scorebook of our second round match in this competition).
