Tilly Barnett showed some real ‘girl power’ for Belhus 5th XI on Saturday as she claimed her maiden ‘5for’ which included a hat-trick.

Tilly was joined in the Belhus CC bowling attack by her brother, Lucas (2 wickets) and Aftab Mohammed (3 wickets) to halt Hornchurch’s valiant run chase.

The Belhus CC 5th XI were defending an incredible run total of 310 which was put together by some fine batting by Robert Healy 174 runs, ably assisted by Ryan Prendergast’s 68 runs.

Belhus CC 2nd XI successfully chased down a 277 run target at Hadleigh to claim a much needed league victory.  Chris Didd (75 runs) and Roy Heffernan (55 runs) lead the comeback with Belhus’ Jack Plane taking the Belhus 2nd XI to victory with a quickfire century of runs (104).

Elsewhere in the Essex leagues, Belhus CC 1st XI lost at home to Essex Premier league leader Colchester & East Essex CC by 50 runs albeit that Belhus’ Joe Joyce was in fine form contributing yet another century of runs (102).   Belhus CC 3s and 4s lost their respective fixtures against Chelmsford and Leigh on Sea.
