Belhus may have won a fixture at this level in the Essex Peters Cup just two weeks previously, but the tables were turned when the two teams met in the South Essex Cricket League on the same ground. Tarten and Sewell led the nine-wicket romp for the home side with 37 (retired) and 34 not out respectively with six overs to spare. Earlier, Belhus produced a solid if unspectacular batting display with openers Owen Jefferies and Billy Winter both hitting 21, while middle-order batsmen Tony Ellis and Lee Shipton also reaching double figures with 11 not out and 10 respectively. Daniel Dreher took the lone Stanford wicket to fall when he caught opener Charlie Gleisinger off his own bowling in his third over to finish with figures of four overs, no maidens, one wicket for 12 runs.
