It was no laughing matter for Belhus as Wickford's D. Van Dyk helped himself to a magnificent 175 at the Dick Patmore Memorial ground on Sunday. With McKenna and Brown scoring 29 and 12 respectively, the home side closed after their 40 overs on 255. Belhus made a brave effort chasing such a daunting target as Michael Fogg hit an undefeated 62. Openers Gavin Jefferies and Nick Marns scored 33 and 39 respectively for an opening partnership of 77 while Chris Baker hit 13, Stuart Morris made 21 and Michael Cansdale scored 15. On the bowling front, for Belhus, Roy Heffernan took an impressive 3-26 from seven overs (one maiden), Cansdale took 2-48 from eight overs while Ian Havard and Connor Day returned 1-21 and 1-30 respectively. For the hosts, G. Sloane took three wickets for just eight runs from four overs, one of which was a maiden.
