On a stiflingly hot day at North Stifford Village Green, Belhus were pleased to win the toss. After a slow start, and perched precariously on 36 for 3, Danny Joyce and Max Osborne combined together to carve a superb, new club record 260-runs 4th wicket partnership (surpassing the previous record of 238 set by Richard Waters and Wayne Read on 19th July 1990 against Goresbrook CC) and lift their side to a highly respectable total of 328 for 5 from the allotted 50 overs. Their magnificent effort also set a new club record highest partnership for any wicket.

Max Osborne registered his second successive century and a career-best 177 not out (118 balls), as well as a new club record score by a Belhus No. 5 batsman (previously 116 not out held by Wayne Read since 4th August 1999, also against Goresbrook CC). Max's century came up in 77 balls and he recorded the fourth highest-ever score by a Belhus batsman as well as the club's highest individual League score.

In falling one short of his century, skipper Danny Joyce became only the fifth Belhus batsman to be dismissed on 99 - joining David Webb (1981), Martin Guilbert (2007), Joe Joyce (2013) and Charlie Lewis (2013).

After a really nice tea, Upminster made a very good stab at the run-chase with captain Alan Ison slamming a commanding 73 from just 39 deliveries. But then 2 wickets apiece from Joe Joyce, Matt Doran and Connor Day saw Upminster dismissed for a highly creditable 291and Belhus marched home to a 37-runs victory.

And at the halfway stage of the 18-match SNEL season, the 1st XI are sitting in 5th place in Division One with 120 points - just 3 points behind Harold Wood who are perched in 2nd place. Hutton are the current, runaway leaders with 171 points.
