Belhus captain Joe Joyce hit a magnificent 93 as his team achieved the second highest score in the club's history at Mopsies Park on Sunday. In fact they fell only one run short of the record, currently held by the tour eleven's 346 against Happisburgh last year. However, the Belhus players will be more interested in the fact that their club remains at the top of the Essex Sunday League East division table, though their promotion to the league's premier division still hangs in the balance as Goresbrook have played fewer games and have the potential to pip Belhus to the winners spot if they win their remaining games. Although Belhus have not lost a Sunday league game on the field, they have been forced to concede three games due to the weather. Supporting Joyce with the bat was Martin Guilbert with 52, while Daniel Dreher picked up 4-33 from seven impressive overs.
