Belhus captain Danny Norris hit a fine 61 not out as he lead his team to a solid victory at South Weald on Sunday. Mike Randall held the innings together with a steady 48 and Ben Kent looked particularly impressive with 32 until he was run out by a bad call from a colleague. Jake Wolfe hit 20 and Michael Cansdale joined Norris as undefeated at the close of the Belhus innings with 19 not out. After the break, during which Michael Cansdale was presented with the Essex Sunday League's bowling award for 2010 by club chairman Fred Taylor, Paul Whitlock took his weekend's tally of wickets to nine with 3-34 from eight overs, one of which was a maiden. Cliff Cansdale applied a firm brake on the South Weald reply by picking up 3-18 from eight overs (two maidens), but the most extraordinary bowling performance came from fourteen-year-old Jake Wolfe, who only needed five balls to pick up the final three South Weald wickets. His final analysis - 0.5 overs, 0 runs, three wickets! For good measure Wolfe also achieved a run out with a direct hit when he had only one stump to aim at.
